Gail Nelson has been in the practice of conflict management for over 25 years. She was trained through the Conflict Resolution Center at UND in civil and family mediation and was awarded the Hendrickson Distinguished Mediator Award in 2012. Her interest in Collaborative Divorce led her to attend the International conference, The Art of Holding Hope, in Vancouver Canada in 2014 hosted by IACP.
Gail has a Social Work degree from UND and a master’s in counselor education from NDSU. She is licensed in North Dakota as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has a private practice serving individuals and couples at Journey Counseling. Gail provides assessment and referral services for several Employee Assistance programs covering many employers in the region.
Gail volunteers with Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity’s Restore Drab to Fab committee where they encourage shoppers to upscale items they find in the store as well as offering DIY classes.
She is married to her husband Jim for 36 years and together they have two grown children. They enjoy weekends at the lake and volunteering with various community causes.
