Alisha Ankers
Attorney
ALISHA ANKERS has been a sole practitioner in Fargo, North Dakota, since 1998. Her main area of practice is family law, including custody matters, child support, divorce, paternal rights, custody investigations, guardian ad litem work.
Being a child of divorce taught her that there needed to be a gentler way for children to handle the choices parents make. Collaborative Practice allows the family to redefine relationships without the agony of litigation, and without the acrimony of the combative legal system. Alisha is a strong advocate of making alliances and building bridges, welcoming the opportunity to build bridges as the family finds itself "under construction".
Alisha has a broad base of experience and expertise in family law. She has presented trainings on family law topics and mediation through the State Bar Association of ND, National Business Institute and the ND Supreme Court. She has experience in juvenile court and complex family law matters. Ms. Ankers is a member of the Cass County Bar, Clay County Bar, State Bar Association of North Dakota and Minnesota State Bar Association. Ms. Ankers is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Attorneys, and a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. She is a member of the National Board of Trial Attorneys as a Family Law Specialist. She has been named a Great Plains Super Lawyer since 2011. Ms. Ankers earned her B.A. degree from Hamline University (1989) and her J.D. degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law (1992).
