Mike Gjesdahl founded Gjesdahl Law, P.C. in 1989 and is licensed to practice law in North Dakota, Minnesota, and California.  His practice is devoted exclusively to families, their transitions, their needs.  Throughout his career, he has confronted every imaginable family issue.

Today, Mike’s practice largely involves high-stake and high-net-worth divorces. He has handled many divorces involving estates worth tens, and sometimes hundreds, of millions of dollars. Such divorces often involve closely held businesses, farm assets, trusts, inherited wealth, commercial real estate valuation, fraud, and concealed assets. His clients include business owners, farmers, entrepreneurs, public figures, medical and legal professionals, high-net-worth families, C-suite executives, and their spouses.  Most of his cases also involve minor children.  Mike is dedicated to helping his clients find a peaceful resolution of their child-related issues and to insulating children from adult conflict.

Mike has been instrumental in bringing the collaborative negotiating method to North Dakota and the Red River Valley. He currently serves as Chair of the North Dakota Collaborative Divorce Group, is a member of the Collaborative Institute of Minnesota and of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
